VANDY Productions NEWS SUBWAY TAKES ITS “MULLIGAN” In the spirit of such comedy classics as “Caddyshack”, “Swingers” and “Clerks”, “MULLIGAN”, is a modern day golf comedy, set to hit retailers in the summer of 2002. The story follows a foursome of buddies as they reconnect with each other over a round of golf. For each of these twenty-something golfers the time has come in their lives when they need to make a choice, either to “play it where it lies” or to “take their mulligan”, their second chance, in life as in golf. VandeSteeg and “MULLIGAN” have garnered a great deal of local and national attention since its’ inception, being featured on “CNN”, “New York Times”, Hollywood Reporter, Variety, “TNT-Roughcuts”, “E! Entertainment Television”, “Access Hollywood” and has been a featured subject in “The Writer’s Guide to Hollywood…” The cast includes, Steve Lattery (“Drop Dead Gorgeous”, “Joe Somebody”) Cedric Yarbrough (“Andy Richter Controls the Universe”) Joshua Will, Trei Michaels, Alex Cole (“McHale’s Navy”, “The Parent Trap”) and Bill Borea (“Joe Somebody”, “The Naked Man”). “MULLIGAN” is the first independent film that SUBWAY Sandwich Chain has financially sponsored. When making the decision to finance “MULLIGAN”, Richard T. Pilchen, Vice President of SUBWAY â Restaurants surveyed the independent film industry. Pilchen states, “The movie industry has changed over the years and continues to evolve. Big budget movies like Titanic amass audiences, but in recent years, the Academy issues its top awards to independent efforts like “Shakespeare in Love” and “Life is Beautiful”. One would need to look no further than past Summer’s monstrous hit, “The Blair Witch Project”, to see how successful independent films can be. We chose to participate in “MULLIGAN”, because of the production value, the content, the talent of the individuals involved, Tim VandeSteeg’s passion, persistence, and determination to make it happen, and the vast exposure “MULLIGAN”, as a quality independent film, can derive for SUBWAY.” SUBWAY is just one of the over 50 companies who have lined up to make this project a success. LIFE TIME FITNESS, Adidas, Sun Country Airlines, Radisson Hotels, James Page Brewing and Taylor Made Golf have all signed on as key sponsors. “It is exciting for LIFE TIME FITNESS to be affiliated with a project that we have the utmost confidence in,” said LIFE TIME FITNESS President and CEO Bahram Akradi. “After seeing the film for myself at Park City during Sundance, and knowing Tim and some of the other members of the production team personally, I know “MULLIGAN” is something that will captivate golf fans, movie fans and comedy fans around the country,” he continued. “We plan on being involved with Vandy Productions on all their upcoming films as well.” To place an online order go to: www.mulliganmovie.com To inquire more information concerning MULLIGAN please contact Tim VandeSteeg directly.
